Alright, bear with me here: found this beautifully packaged Coca-Cola can concept via Brian Hoff from a post on TheDieline.com thanks to an ingenious Dzmitry Samal. Got that? Good. Let’s keep going.

Listen world; I understand something very clear right now, crystal clear. We’re in a recession. My answer to that you may or may not care to hear is this – spend some damn money you tight fisted penny-pinchers!

But I’ll be fair… who better to get the ball rolling than large corporations? And, oh, I don’t know, why not pick on Coca-Cola for a moment? The above design has already been created, so I’ll let you hesitant folks in the drawing room at Coke that you should take the idea and run with it, with Dzmitry Samal’s permission of course.

Even it’s only a limited run, the difference between this can and a can of Pepsi with it’s redesigned logos and colours… well, let’s just say I would shell out an extra buck just for the Coke can. This is also an opportunity to hit back at Pepsi as they reinvent their branding yet again. Of course, I’m not asking Coca-Cola to revamp their logo. That would be imbecilic of me to ask as it’s, at least in my opinion, absolutely perfect the way it is. But I digress.

People want to buy things for themselves – even if it’s only small things – to get themselves feeling a little better. Targeting that audience and getting them to purchase something will help the overall feeling of helplessness in the Americas and make Coca-Cola an extra buck in the process. If you really want to overcharge, put the money to good use – like donating proceeds of each sale to a charity.

C’mon Coca-Cola… make me and a lot of other people happy and start punching out some flattened cans!
