Objectified
Alright, so I know that the above image is not of the Objectified poster. In fact it has nothing to do with the documentary by Gary Huswitz. The image is however, courtesy of XTRABOLD, and it made me fondly remember that I needed to pre-order my special edition Blu-ray disc of Objectified.That’s right folks! It’s now being made for Blu-Ray although Gary at first said that there were too many issues with making it so.
Before I forget, I do however encourage you to take a peek over at XTRABOLD – great work!
Ah – now there’s the Objectified poster. For those of you who are otherwise unaware of what Objectified is, and are already yawning at the thought of a Docu-flick, shut your mouth! I can honestly say I was near-riveted while watching Helvetica, Gary’s film about the type face. And no, there is no sarcasm being used there. To prep yourself for what’s to come (and if you haven’t already) get a copy of Helvetica, watch it, and I’ll bet my bottom dollar – or at least my weekly Starbucks budget – that you’ll be scrambling for your credit card to get that pre-order in.
Currently available are a USB Limited Edition, and a DVD Limited Edition in addition to the Blu-Ray disc. I wont go into detail here about them, but they’ve got some awesome packaging going on courtesy of Build. The release date is October 13 (since they ran into a, “manufacturing snafu”) but if you pre-order you’ll get priority early shipping. Oh, and get this fellow Canucks… same cost for shipping it to your Canadian address as the Americans get! At the end of the day though, if you’re not a fan of Helvetica, then that’s fine too as you’re entitled to your own tastes and opinions. Just know that me and a whole lot of other people find you a complete and utter fool. Please don’t take offense, it’s just the way we are.
